The board is comprised of CPSBC licensees and members of the public who are all appointed by the Ministry of Health upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of the Health Professions and Occupations Regulatory Oversight Office.

![]() | Shannon McDonald, MDChair Dr. Shannon McDonald is Métis/Anishinabe with deep roots in the Red River Valley of Manitoba. She graduated from the University of Manitoba faculty of medicine in 1998, followed by postgraduate training in community medicine and psychiatry. She has broad experience at multiple levels of health-care service delivery and health administration. For over 20 years, she worked in Indigenous health and is an experienced manager in the federal and provincial government contexts—for six years as the executive director of Indigenous Health at the BC Ministry of Health. She joined First Nations Health Authority in September of 2015 as the senior medical officer for Vancouver Island, retiring as the chief medical officer in 2023. She has continued to participate on health-related boards, and to work as a health consultant, specializing in Indigenous health. |

McKeen, MD, CCFP, FCFPVice-chair Dr. Katharine McKeen received her medical degree from the University of British Columbia in 1992 and completed residency in family practice at the University of British Columbia. With over 30 years of clinical experience, she currently practises in Victoria. She also holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Victoria and has completed a fellowship in health system improvement at the University of Alberta. |
![]() | Gaurav Bahl, MB BS, FRCPCDr. Gaurav Bahl is a graduate of the Nagpur University medical school and has been practising medicine for over 15 years. He is a specialist in radiation oncology and currently practises in Abbotsford. He brings governance experience with Fraser Health, Doctors of BC, and medical staff associations. |
![]() | Anneline Du Preez, MB, ChB, CCFP (EM)Dr. Anneline Du Preez received her medical degree from the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 1998. She currently practises in Kimberley and Cranbrook as a family and emergency room physician. She also works as an assessor for Practice Ready Assessment – British Columbia and for the CPSBC Practice Enhancement Program. |

Greenwood, PhDDr. Margo Greenwood is an academic leader of the National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health and an Indigenous scholar of Cree ancestry with years of experience focused on the health and well-being of Indigenous children, families and communities. She also holds a professor appointment in both the First Nations studies and education programs at the University of Northern British Columbia. |
![]() | Haike A. MullerMs. Haike Muller is Nlaka’pamux and currently the director, strategic policy at the First Nations Health Authority, where she has worked since 2009. She has previous experience as an instructor of Indigenous studies and as a diversity advisor. She holds a bachelor of laws degree from the University of Victoria and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of British Columbia. |
Mary E. O’CallaghanMs. Mary O’Callaghan is a retired partner with KPMG. She currently provides advisory services on governance, strategy and organization development. Mary has served as a public member on the boards of the College of Occupational Therapists of BC and the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. She currently serves as a lay director on the board of Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC. Mary holds bachelor of science and master of business administration degrees from the University of British Columbia and is a Fellow Certified Management Consultant. | |
![]() | Kam K. RamanMs. Kam Raman is currently the vice president, commercial financial services of Royal Bank of Canada where she has worked since 2020. She has over 25 years experience in retail banking, insurance, sales leadership and program development, enterprise member experience strategy, credit union operations and banking. She holds a master of business administration degree from Queen’s University, a bachelor of business administration degree from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. |
Renata SteeleRenata Steele is a realtor with RE/MAX City Realty. She obtained her real estate licence from the University of British Columbia and has over 25 years of experience in marketing, sales, and management. She is the founder of Okanagan Women United and ONE Group Okanagan Networking and Events. She has served on the BC College of Nurses and Midwives disciplinary committee, and the City of Richmond’s child care development board, poverty committee and family court committee. She is also an active member of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver. | |
![]() | Shauna Tsuchiya, MD, CCFPDr. Shauna Tsuchiya obtained her medical degree from the University of Toronto in 2009 and completed her residency at Queens University. She currently practises family medicine in Kamloops and is a clinical instructor at the University of British Columbia. She was also the site medical director at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops from 2018 to 2021. |
![]() | Wilson Wan, MD, RCPSCDr. Wilson Wan received his medical degree from the University of British Columbia in 2011. He currently practises as an emergency medicine specialist in Vancouver and Burnaby. He is also the medical director for Fraser Health at BC Emergency Health Services. |
![]() | Lionel R. YipMr. Lionel Yip is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with bachelor of arts and bachelor of laws degrees. He also graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a master of laws. He has worked as Crown counsel in Surrey and New Westminster since 1990. He served as a director of the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Society in Vancouver from 2003 to 2011, was president of the New Westminster Bar Association from 2011 to 2012, and served on the Equality and Diversity Committee of the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch, from 2011 to 2015. |
