Updates from the Physician Practice Enhancement Program

Under the Health Professions Act (HPA), health regulatory organizations are responsible for promoting high practice standards and ensuring that their registrants are competent for clinical practice.

Duty and objects of a college - section 16

2) A college has the following objects:

d) to establish, monitor and enforce standards of practice to enhance the quality of practice and reduce incompetent, impaired or unethical practice amongst registrants;

e) to establish and maintain a continuing competency program to promote high practice standards amongst registrants;

The College Connector is sent to every current registrant of the College. Decisions of the College on matters of standards and guidelines are contained in this publication.
