Hearing notifications

Hearings of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia are open to the public except where, upon application by one of the parties involved, it is determined that the proceedings, or part thereof, should be closed.

Hearing notifications include

  • the full name of the registrant and their location(s) of practice,
  • a summary of the citation, and 
  • the date, time and location of the hearing.

Hearing notifications will not include identifiers of the complainant or any other third parties.

The Committee will inquire into Dr. Hoffe’s alleged misconduct, namely that, he contravened standards imposed under the Health Professions Act, including but not limited to the Canadian Medical Association's Code of Ethics and Professionalism by publishing statements on social media and other digital platforms that were misleading, incorrect or inflammatory about vaccinations, treatments, and public measures relating to COVID-19.

A panel of the Discipline Committee met on May 31, 2024 to inquire into a citation against Dr. Charles Hoffe dated April 23, 2024.

Dr. Daniel Yoshio Nagase
 

A panel of the Discipline Committee will be appointed to conduct a hearing to inquire into Dr. Nagase’s alleged misconduct, namely that, on or about December 9, 2021, while a registrant, Dr. Nagase contravened standards imposed under the Health Professions Act, including but not limited to the Canadian Medical Association’s Code of Ethics and Professionalism, by making public addresses regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and related issues that included his making misleading, incorrect, or inflammatory statements about vaccinations, treatments, and measures for COVID-19, including

  •  publicly expressing that Ivermectin is a safe and effective treatment for COVID-19;
  • publicly expressing that the COVID-19 vaccinations are dangerous, or making otherwise misleading, incorrect, or inflammatory statements; and
  • making at least some of these public statements while appearing in front of effigies of political figures who were hung from nooses.
