Updated and newly posted PPEP assessment standards on medical records

Physician Practice Enhancement Program update


The Physician Practice Enhancement Program (PPEP) has made a series of updates to its assessment standards on medical records for family practice, psychiatry, pediatrics, internal medicine, and dermatology.

These changes include

  • further clarification on the purpose of the assessment standard and the context for when the medical record standards are applied,
  • language improvements to clarify expectations on individual items, and
  • alignment with revised College practice standards on Virtual Care, Complementary and Alternative Therapies, Medical Records, Data Stewardship and Confidentiality of Personal Information, and Primary Care Provision in Walk-in, Urgent Care and Multi-registrant Clinics.
