Statement on remains found at former residential school
The College extends condolences to the Indigenous families and communities affected by the discovery of the remains of 215 children at a former residential school building in Kamloops.
This tragedy is a stark reminder that Indigenous racism is an issue, which organizations like the College must address and reconcile. The College is committed to cultural safety and humility within our organization and the broader health care system.
As an act of recognition and reconciliation, the College is encouraging employees to wear an orange shirt on Tuesday, June 1 to honour the 215 children and the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation.
