Public advisory of unlawful practice: Asten Nguyen Phong Nguyen

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) has been made aware that Asten Nguyen Phong Nguyen (“Dr. Nguyen Nguyen”) has been advertising his services as a surgeon operating out of Vancouver General Hospital, and asking prospective patients to pay him a deposit for their surgery. This individual has no affiliation with VCH, he is not registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia, and he is not authorized to practise medicine in the province.

College granted permanent injunction for unlawful practice of medicine

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC has been granted an order by the BC Supreme Court prohibiting Damy Tan (also known as Christina Sun) from providing, advertising or charging a fee for services related to mole removal so long as she remains a person who is not a registrant of the College.

New reprocessing requirements for ultrasound probes

The Ministry of Health has directed that the Provincial Infection Control Network of BC’s Recommendations for Cleaning and Disinfection in Medical Ultrasound to Prevent Human Papillomavirus Transmission must be implemented as soon as possible and no later than July 31, 2018.

College warns public of a potential health risk following a search and seizure of a home in Delta

On December 20, 2016, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia was granted an order by the BC Supreme Court to enter and search a residence located at 10519 Modesto Place in Delta, BC where the College had reason to believe that Ms. Zhuo (Sabrina) Li was operating a business under the name of Sabrina Permanent Make-up Studio Inc., and providing cosmetic medical services which she is not qualified or legally authorized to perform.
