Notification of proposed Bylaw amendments: Non-hospital medical and surgical facilities
On July 4, 2025, the Board of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC) approved proposed amendments to the Bylaws under the Health Professions Act, RSBC 1996, c. 183 (HPA) specifically, related to anesthesiologists practising in non-hospital medical and surgical facilities.
Update to MAiD practice standard: New process for medication return delays
CPSBC has updated its Medical Assistance in Dying practice standard to reflect the MAiD Oversight Unit’s new process for practitioners experiencing extenuating circumstances that delay the return of MAiD medications within 72 hours following a patient's death.

The Ministry of Health recently announced the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) will come into force on April 1, 2026.
