Required private office signage FAQ

With the approval of section 7-5 of the College Bylaws, registrants practising in a private office will be required starting in January 2022 to post signage, or provide written notice to patients, that the physicians and surgeons practising in that location are licensed and regulated by the College. College Board member appointed to the Order of Canada

The College would like to congratulate board member, Dr. Margo Greenwood, for being appointed to the Order of Canada. On December 29, 2021, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, the Governor General of Canada, announced the appointment of Dr. Margo Greenwood as an officer of the Order of Canada, one of the highest honours in the country.

The College has recently updated several practice standards: Treatment of Self, Family Members and Others Close to You, Ending the Patient-registrant Relationship, Access to Medical Care Without Discrimination, Medical Records Management and Medical Records Documentation.

Seeking public feedback on the draft Cultural Safety, Cultural Humility and Anti-racism practice standard’s core concepts

The College is currently drafting a new Cultural Safety, Cultural Humility and Anti-racism practice standard to clearly communicate its expectations of physicians and surgeons in providing culturally safe care to Indigenous patients. All members of the public are encouraged to share their feedback on the draft standard’s core concepts, especially those who identify as Indigenous.
