The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia is pleased to announce the results of the 2023 Board election.

On February 14, 2023, the BC Supreme Court granted the College an injunction enjoining and restraining Zaliah Marie Batchelor from engaging in the unlawful practice of medicine.

The College is currently in the process of creating a public resource that outlines what is acceptable for a physician or surgeon to advertise to the public, and the rules they must follow when doing so.

Section 1-15(3), section 2-7, and Part 2, Section B of the College Bylaws have been updated, effective November 28, 2022.

On October 19, 2022, the BC Minister of Health introduced new legislation to replace the Health Professions Act, the umbrella statute by which the government has established a common regulatory system for the province's health professions.
