Medical Assistance in Dying Provincial Forms Updated
On February 25, 2022, the Ministry of Health released updated provincial forms for medical assistance in dying (MAiD) in BC. As of February 28, 2022, the expectation is that patients and MAiD providers will use the updated forms for all new MAiD cases; however, providers will be allowed to continue using the older version of the forms for pre-existing cases.

The College has recently updated several practice standards and professional guidelines: (1) Primary Care Provision in Walk-in, Urgent Care and Multi-registrant Clinics, (2) Medical Assistance in Dying, (3) Prescribing Practices Countersigning Prescription and Internet Prescribing, (4) Referral-Consultation Process.

The College would like to congratulate board member, Dr. Margo Greenwood, for being appointed to the Order of Canada. On December 29, 2021, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, the Governor General of Canada, announced the appointment of Dr. Margo Greenwood as an officer of the Order of Canada, one of the highest honours in the country.
