DynaMed point-of-care tool now available to BC physicians

The College library is now offering DynaMed to College registrants. DynaMed is  a point-of-care information tool of synthesized evidence and objective analysis for rapid consultation at the bedside or office. The evidence-based content is updated daily and presented in an easy-to-read bulleted format. Registrants can access DynaMed online from the Point of Care page and download the DynaMed Mobile app for iOS or Android (instructions are on the Apps and Audiovisual page).

Unlicensed medical practitioner ordered to stop practising medicine

On March 22, 2018, a consent order was entered in the BC Supreme Court restraining Ms. Rajdeep Kaur Khakh from performing activities considered to be the unlawful practice of medicine. In addition, the respondent RK The Manse Ltd. is restrained from recovering any fee or remuneration in any court in respect to the provision of a service that may be provided only by a registrant of the College.

Notification of consultation

The College is inviting feedback from members of the public on recent revisions made to the practice standard: Safe Prescribing of Opioids and Sedatives.

The practice standard has been carefully rewritten based on extensive feedback from physicians, members of the public, and other key health partners.

Through this consultation, the College will assess whether the revised practice standard Safe Prescribing of Opioids and Sedatives is clear, concise, and effectively outlines the College’s expectations of physicians on the subject.

Explore this title, as well as over 600 ebooks on a variety of clinical subjects (anesthesia, family practice, psychiatry, surgery, and other subject area), in the College library.

College granted permanent injunction for unlawful practice of medicine

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC has been granted an order by the BC Supreme Court prohibiting Damy Tan (also known as Christina Sun) from providing, advertising or charging a fee for services related to mole removal so long as she remains a person who is not a registrant of the College.

College Bylaws Amendment: Sections 1-27, 3-4, 3-5(5), 7-1 and 8-1

Sections 1-27, 3-4, 3-5(5), 7-1 and 8-1 of the Bylaws under the Health Professions Act (HPA) has been amended and updated.

The new Bylaws are in effect March 13, 2018.
