Resigning from the CPSBC registry
Note: A resigned licensee remains listed in the CPSBC directory for five years from the date of resignation.

Licensees must ensure they clearly and accurately document the location of their medical records.
Online course on leaving practice
For further guidance on leaving practice, licensees can take the brief online course to learn more about:
- medical records
- patients requiring ongoing care
- return of pharmaceuticals
- contingency planning
Switching to the surgical assistant licence
Surgical assistant licensees are:
- required to complete the annual licence renewal process
- exempt from continuing competency requirements under section 6-11 of the CPSBC Bylaws
Switching to locum services only
Physicians and surgeons must hold a full licence before switching to the locum licence.
