Physician assessment components
The multi-source feedback (MSF) component provides physicians with meaningful information that allows them to reflect on their practice.
The MSF component gives a 360-degree perspective of the physician’s practice and is administered by the Medical Council of Canada (MCC) and is referred to as the MCC 360. Survey forms are sent to physician colleagues, non-physician co-workers, and patients to gather multiple points on a physician’s CanMEDS and CANMEDS-FM roles as:
Responses are anonymized, collated, and analyzed to produce a MSF report.
The MCC is responsible for the administration of the MSF component on behalf of the College. The MCC will contact physicians selected for an assessment to initiate the process. The MCC has signed a formal agreement to ensure that confidentiality is maintained throughout the MSF process. All physicians who complete MCC 360 are eligible for three credits per hour of CPD credits from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Assessment or Accredited/Certified) or College of Family Physicians of Canada (Mainpro+), up to a maximum of 12 credits.
