Acknowledgement and Acceptance of Terms of Service

You have requested remote support from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (The "College"). By clicking on the Agree link at the bottom of this page, you are acknowledging that you have read and understand, and agree to the remote support terms and conditions agreement below.

Description of remote support services

Remote support services are currently available over the phone and via the Internet if your PC was built within the last four years, you have a working cable or DSL high speed Internet connection, and your operating system is Microsoft XP or newer.

If you choose to receive remote support, then the College support staff remotely logs on through your high-speed Internet connection to view your computer. The support staff will see exactly what you see on the screen, which enables them to troubleshoot accurately and guide you through every step of the process.

You understand that the College support staff will be able to view all personal information entered by you during the remote support session.

You understand that you can, for any reason and at any time, disconnect the remote support session. By disconnecting the College support staff will no longer be able to view your computer screen and the remote support session will be terminated.


You understand and agree that it is your responsibility to back up the data, software, information or other files stored on your computer's hard drive(s) and/or any other storage device. You acknowledge and agree that the College of Physicans and Surgeons of British Columbia support staff shall not be responsible under any circumstances for any loss, corruption or damage to data, and/or software or hardware.

Service Limitations and Liability

Limitations to service

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia reserves the right from providing any or all requested remote support services on the basis that your technical needs or other requirements are unusual or extensive and beyond the scope of this agreement as reasonably determined by the College support staff.

Force majeure

If the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia support staff's ability to render remote service is impaired by you or circumstances beyond the control of the College support staff, the College support staff may not choose to provide or to discontinue remote services.

Limitation of liability

You agree that the College is not liable for damage related to its remote support services and you release the College from liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of remote services. The College is not liable for loss, alteration, or corruption of data, damage to hardware or software, or for your inability to use your computer equipment.
