Update to Maria Ezzati unlawful practice case

On August 5, 2020, Ms. Maria Ezzati appeared in BC Supreme Court and admitted to being in contempt of court by injecting people with Botox and dermal fillers, which violated an injunction prohibiting her from providing any service that may only be provided by a registrant of the College. Ms. Ezzati’s sentence hearing has been adjourned to a date yet to be determined.

The College previously hired undercover private investigators who attended a “Botox and filler party” at a private residence in Vancouver, where Ms. Ezzati was administering cosmetic medical injectables to attendees, and receiving payment in cash. The College later discovered Ms. Ezzati in possession of botulinum toxin and medical supplies, leading to the contempt of court proceedings.
